More Than Just a Summer Camp
No experience required.
Baem BJJ Summer Camp is designed to be more than just a week of martial arts training. It’s an opportunity for kids to stay active, make new friends, build confidence, and learn valuable life skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Throughout the week, campers will be introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through engaging instruction, games, team challenges, and activities that make learning enjoyable for beginners and experienced students alike.
In addition to learning Jiu-Jitsu, campers will explore the core values of martial arts, including respect, humility, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. We emphasize a growth mindset, encouraging children to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and recognize that progress comes through effort and practice.
Our goal is for every child to leave camp with new skills, greater confidence, stronger friendships, and lessons that extend far beyond the mats.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does my child need BJJ experience?
No. Camp is designed for both beginners and experienced students. Whether your child is stepping onto the mats for the first time or already trains regularly, our coaches will provide instruction appropriate for their skill level and help them progress throughout the week.
Will kids be grouped by age?
Yes. Campers will be grouped whenever appropriate based on age, size, maturity, and experience level. This helps ensure that activities, games, and training sessions are safe, engaging, and enjoyable for everyone.
What if my child has never done martial arts before?
That’s completely okay. Many campers will be experiencing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time. Our instructors will introduce new students to the fundamentals in a supportive and beginner-friendly environment, with an emphasis on learning, participation, and having fun.
What should my child bring?
Campers should bring a water bottle, lunch, and their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uniform (gi) each day. We also recommend bringing any snacks your child may need during scheduled breaks.
Does my child need a Kimono GI?
Yes. Campers will participate in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training throughout the week and will need a gi for instruction and training activities.
If your child does not already own a gi, one can be purchased through Baem BJJ at a discounted camp rate. Please contact us before the start of camp so we can help determine the correct size and ensure availability.
What will my child do during camp?
Each day includes a combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, games, team-building activities, outdoor play, movement and coordination exercises, and discussions focused on important values such as respect, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork.
Are spots limited?
Yes. To maintain a safe and positive coach-to-student ratio, camp enrollment is limited. Registration will close once capacity is reached.
Is this camp only for current Baem BJJ students?
No. The camp is open to both current members and children who have never trained at Baem BJJ before. Friends, siblings, and newcomers are all welcome.
What is the goal of the camp?
Our goal is for every child to have fun, stay active, make new friends, build confidence, and be introduced to the positive lessons and values that make Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu such a powerful tool for personal growth.
